Before playing the game, one needs to understand that each piece follows only a certain path. For example, a pawn can only move ahead in straight lines, but can atttack at an angle, one square at a time. Similarly, a knight’s move is L-shaped. You might be able to attack your opponent's king if he fails to castle. The only move where more than one piece can be moved in a turn is this one.
