The fifth game of IPL 2023 will be played between five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the latter’s home ground. This will be the second double header of the day.
While RCB still continue to search for their maiden IPL title, they have been one of the top teams in the last three seasons of the tournament. RCB reached the playoffs in the last three seasons and will be looking to go all the way to the finishing point this year. However, they did not have to play any of their games at their home ground in the last three seasons, where they surprisingly have a very poor record. It remains to be seen if they can turn the tide at the Chinnaswamy Stadium this year. At the helm of the team will be Faf du Plessis, while Virat Kohli’s return to form could also prove a big boost to the team this year.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, finished at the bottom of the points table last season, with four wins and ten losses. They will be without Jasprit Bumrah the entire season, and will be hoping that Jofra Archer delivers the goods for them. Skipper Rohit Sharma has also not been able to do much with the bat in the last four seasons, and will be hoping to make a strong comeback this time around.

RCB vs MI Match Prediction
Mumbai will be without their skipper Rohit Sharma for the first game as he has reportedly fallen sick. It remains to be seen who will lead the team in the regular skipper’s absence. Bangalore, meanwhile, have a poor record at their home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where they have won 42 games but lost 40. With the home and away format back after three years, RCB will be apprehensive of their record in home games. Despite that, we predict RCB as the winners of this game.
