1. Islamabad United 2016
The 2016 PSL featured five teams and was held from 4 February 2016 to 23 February in the United Arab Emirates. The inaugural season saw Islamabad United emerging as the champions. Led by the seasoned Misbah-ul-Haq, Islamabad United played confidently throughout the tournament.
In the final match against Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United clinched victory by 6 wickets. Dwayne Smith’s 73 runs off 51 balls and contributions from Brad Haddin and Khalid Latif secured the title for Islamabad United. Most runs that season were scored by Lahore Qalandar’s Umar Akmal (335), while the most wickets were taken by Islamabad United’s Andre Russell (16).

2. Peshawar Zalmi 2017
In 2017, Peshawar Zalmi, under the leadership of Darren Sammy, claimed their maiden PSL title. Facing Quetta Gladiators in the final, Peshawar Zalmi successfully defended a modest total of 149, bowling out the Gladiators for 90 runs.
Mohammad Asghar picked up three wickets and was well supported by Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz who picked up two wickets each. Darren Sammy of Peshawar Zalmi was awarded the man of the match award, while Kamran Akmal was named the player of the tournament. This season of the PSL came under the scanner for spot fixing. Four players were banned for differing periods of time.
3. Islamabad United 2018
PSL 3 introduced six teams, marking the league’s first expansion since its inception in 2015. The group stage was held in the United Arab Emirates, followed by two playoff matches in Lahore and the final match at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Islamabad United continued their dominance in the PSL by clinching their second title in 2018. In the final clash against Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United secured a comfortable victory by 3 wickets. Luke Ronchi’s blistering 26-ball 52 and a vital 44 runs by Sahibzada Farhan powered Islamabad United to lift the trophy once again.
4. Quetta Gladiators 2019
Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious in the 2019 edition of the PSL, marking their first-ever appearance on PSL winners list. Captained by Sarfaraz Ahmed, Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the final by 8 wickets. Ahmed Shehzad’s unbeaten 58 runs guided Quetta Gladiators to a convincing victory, where they chased down a target of 139 runs in 17.5 overs.
Earlier in the game, Mohammad Hasnain and Dwayne Bravo picked up five wickets between them. Shane Watson of Quetta Gladiators took home the Player of the Tournament award for being leading run scorer with a total of 435 runs in the tournament. Hasan Ali of Peshawar Zalmi was awarded the leading wicket taker award for taking 25 wickets.

5. Karachi Kings 2020
In 2020, the PSL was held entirely in Pakistan for the first time ever. The 2020 season witnessed Karachi Kings clinching their maiden PSL title in an encounter against Lahore Qalandars. Karachi Kings triumphed by 5 wickets with eight balls remaining.
Babar Azam’s magnificent unbeaten 63 led Karachi Kings to chase down a total of 135 runs in the 18th over. Earlier in the game, the bowlers put up a combined effort to restrict the Qalandars to a low total. Babar Azam was the leading run scorer that season with 473 runs. With 17 wickets, Shaheen Afridi was the leading wicket-taker.
6. Multan Sultans 2021
Multan Sultans made history in 2021 by securing their first-ever PSL title. Under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan, Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the final by 47 runs.
Sohaib Maqsood’s explosive 65 off 35 balls, a half century by Rilee Rossouw and a stellar bowling performance by Imran Tahir propelled Multan Sultans to a dominant victory and etched their name as champions of the PSL. For the second successive season, Babar Azam finished as the leading run-scorer with 554 runs. Shahnawaz Dahani took the most wickets (20).

7. Lahore Qalandars 2022
In 2022, Lahore Qalandars lifted their maiden PSL trophy after a dominating final against Multan Sultans. Led by Shaheen Afridi, Lahore Qalandars clinched victory by 42 runs.
A brilliant all-round performance by Mohammed Hafeez, who scored a half century and took 2 wickets, and contributions from Harry Brook and David Wiese ensured Lahore Qalandars’ big win in the final showdown.
Fakhar Zaman finished the season as the leading run-scorer with 588 runs, while Shaheen Afridi was the leading wicket-taker with 20 wickets.
8. Lahore Qalandars 2023
In PSL 2023, Lahore Qalandars the first team in the PSL to defend their title. The final between Qalandars and Multan Sultans went down to the wire before Qalandars managed to win by one run. A half-century from Abdullah Shafique and an unbeaten 44 from Shaheen Afridi took Qalandars to a first innings total of 200, in reply to which Sultans fell short by just one run. Shaheen Afridi picked up four wickets. Mohammed Rizwan finished as the leading run-scorer with 550 runs while Abbas Afridi finished with the highest number of wickets (23).
9. Islamabad United 2024
PSL 2024 took place across four cities in Pakistan in February and March 2024. Islamabad United made history by clinching a record breaking third title and entering the PSL cup winners list for a third time.
A half century from Usman Khan guided Multan Sultans to a total of 159, which United chased down in the last ball of their innings. Martin Guptill scored a half century for United. Babar Azam finished the season as the leading run-scorer with 569 runs while Usama Mir finished as the leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets.
