The 11th game of IPL 2023 will be played between runners up of last year, Rajasthan Royals, and perennial underachievers, Delhi Capitals, on Saturday in Guwahati. This will be the first double header of the day.
The Delhi team has had a poor start to their campaign. They lost their season opener to Lucknow Super Giants, and the second game to Gujarat Titans. Apart from David Warner, the Capitals’ batting has been substandard this season. Against Gujarat, they scored 162 batting first, but were unable to defend the target as Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar and impact player Khaleel Ahmed conceded more than nine runs per over respectively.
Big news from the Delhi camp is that Mitchell Marsh is flying back home for his wedding and will be unavailable for one week. In his absence, Rovman Powell is likely to be in the XI.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in their opening game. Their top order was brilliant as Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson scored a half century each and helped the Royals post a total of 203 for 5, in reply to which the Sunrisers managed only 131 for 8. However, the Royals lost their next game to Punjab and will be looking to make amends for it in Guwahati.
