The Qualifier 2 of Indian Premier League 2023 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on May 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Mumbai made it to the Qualifier 2 after defeating Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.
Batting first, Mumbai posted a total of 182 runs after Cameron Green top scored with a knock of 41 runs. Their bowlers then wreaked havoc and bowled out the Super Giants for only 101 runs. Akash Madhwal was absolutely sensational as he picked up five wickets in 3.3 overs while conceding merely five runs. Chris Jordan and Piyush Chawla also picked up a wicket each. This was Mumbai’s best bowling performance this season.
The Titans, on the other hand, lost to CSK by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 due to a batting collapse. Chasing 173 runs to win, only Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan were able to make significant contributions. Gill top scored with 42 while Khan scored 16 off 30.
In the two league stage games between Gujarat and Mumbai this season, both teams have one win each. Gujarat won the reverse fixture by 55 runs while Mumbai won the return fixture by 27 runs.
