The seventh game of IPL 2023 will be played between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the former’s home ground. Both the teams have had a contrasting start to their IPL 2023 campaign.
Gujarat Titans defeated the Chennai Super Kings in their opening game. Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph and Mohammad Shami picked up two wickets each to help restrict the Super Kings to a first innings total of 178. In the second innings, a half century from Shubman Gill helped the Titans chase down the target in 19.2 overs. Rashid Khan won his 10th Player of the Match award for picking up two wickets and scoring 10 off 3.
David Warner’s Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, lost to Lucknow Super Giants after being unable to chase down a target of 193 runs. The bowlers had an off day, with each of them conceding runs at an economy of more than 7.5. In the batting department, no other batsman except for Warner could step up. The skipper top scored with a half century. For the next game, both Anrich Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman are available for selection; it remains to be seen if Delhi make any changes to their playing XI.
