Bangladesh and Afghanistan will play the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 3. Bangladesh started their campaign with a loss at the hands of Sri Lanka. For Afghanistan, this will be their opening match of the tournament.
Batting first against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh posted a total of only 164. Najmul Hossain Shanto top scored with a knock of 89 runs, while the rest of the batsmen collectively managed to score just 68 runs. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan did a good job with the ball but the total was too little for Bangladesh to defend. Sri Lanka chased it down in 39 overs. Bangladesh will be expecting a much better batting performance in the next game, especially from Shakib, who was able to score just five runs against Sri Lanka.
Afghanistan, meanwhile, come into the tournament after a 0-3 ODI series defeat to Pakistan. But they will take confidence from the fact that they beat Bangladesh 2-1 in a three-match ODI series two months ago.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a century against both Pakistan and Bangladesh recently and will be the batsman to watch out for in this clash. Rashid Khan will be another player Afghanistan will be keeping high hopes from.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Match Prediction
On paper, Bangladesh appear to be slightly stronger than Afghanistan. But both teams have players who can change the course of the game. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been in fine form lately. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim could play big roles. Afghanistan recently defeated Bangladesh in an ODI series, so the result of this game could go either way.
