Bangladesh and Pakistan will play the second match of the Super 4 round at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. When the two sides met in the group stage, Sri Lanka won comfortably.
Bangladesh’s batting came under the scanner as no other batsman except Najmul Hossain Shanto, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with an injury, was able to score runs. Shanto scored 89 runs, while the second-best individual knock of only 20 runs came from Towhid Hridoy. Matheesha Pathirana bowled brilliantly to win the Player of the Match award. The young bowler picked up four wickets while conceding only 32 runs in 7.4 overs. In the second innings, Sri Lanka chased down the target in 39 overs. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who scored just five runs with the bat, did a good job with the ball, but his effort was not enough to defend the small total. Shakib picked up two wickets while giving away only 29 runs in his full quota of 10 overs.
The two teams will now face each other in the second match of the Super Four. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan are the four teams that have progressed to this stage.

Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Match Prediction
Bangladesh’s batting has blown hot and cold so far in the tournament and their best batsman Najmul Hossain has been ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023 due to an injury. Historically too, they have been able to defeat Sri Lanka in only nine of the 52 ODIs played between the two sides. We predict Sri Lanka to win this game.
