Virat Kohli’s ODI career is nothing short of legendary, marked by exceptional consistency. Kohli made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka in August 2008. Kohli is the third-highest run-scorer in the format, with 13843 runs from 292 matches at an average of 58.67. He has scored 50 centuries in ODIs, the most by any batsman. Last year, Kohli surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar as the batsman with the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket. He slammed his 50th ODI ton against New Zealand at the Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Virat Kohli Test Centuries

Debuting in 2011 against the West Indies, Kohli’s journey in the longest format of the game has also been extraordinary. One of the defining moments of Kohli’s Test career came during India’s tour of Australia in 2014-15, when he scored 692 runs in four matches at an average of 86.50. This included four centuries.

Overall, Kohli has scored 8848 Test runs at an average of 49.15, including 29 centuries. Hid first Test century came against Australia in Adelaide in 2012. In 2017 he became the first captain in cricket history to score 10 Test centuries in a calendar year and that is just one of his many records. Kohli scored six double-centuries as a captain in Tests, surpassing Brian Lara, who had five double centuries as a Test captain.

In March 2023, Kohli put an end to his 1,204-day-long wait for a Test century. He achieved this milestone by scoring his 28th Test century against Australia in the first innings of the fourth Test match, amassing an impressive total of 186 runs.

Virat Kohli T20I Centuries

Kohli made his T20 International debut for India on June 12, 2010, against Zimbabwe in Harare. He is the highest-run scorer in the format with 4037 runs at an average and strike rate of 51.75 and 138.15.

Kohli endured a significant three-year century drought until September 2022, when he ended the wait by scoring his maiden T20I hundred against Afghanistan. His outstanding innings of 122* stood as the highest individual score by an Indian in T20Is until it was broken by Shubman Gill.

Kohli is also the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Kohli has scored He 7,263 runs in 237 IPL matches since the tournament’s inception in 2008. This includes seven centuries and 50 half-centuries.

Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest batter to have played the Indian Premier League. The batter, who has been part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, since its inception has so far slammed 7 centuries in the competition and sits atop the table. It is worth noting that four of these centuries were achieved in a single season, specifically in 2016.

Across 237 IPL matches, Kohli has scored 7,263 runs, demonstrating his exceptional batting skills and maintaining an average of 37.24. Kohli has stepped away from RCB captaincy, but continues to be their most valuable player in the league.

For all his efforts and brilliance, RCB has not been able to go all the way and clinch the title. The closest they came to the IPL title was in 2016 when Kohli was in a different league with 4 centuries – a record that has not yet been broken.
