The third game of IPL 2023 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on Saturday. This will be the second double header of the day.
Lucknow had a good season last year. They reached the playoffs, before being knocked out in the eliminator. They also beat the Delhi Capitals in both the games last year. For the first game of the season, LSG will be without their opener Quinton de Kock, who is away for national duty. They are also without bowler Mohsin Khan for at least the first half of the season. Mohsin, who was among the best bowlers last IPL, has been ruled out with an injury.
Delhi, meanwhile, will be looking to win their first IPL title this year. With captain Rishabh Pant ruled out for the season following his car accident in December, Australian David Warner will be at the team’s helm. Warner has previously led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to the trophy in 2016.
For the Capitals, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will miss the match due to their commitments with the South African team. Also, there is no update on the availability of Mustafizur Rahman, who was rested for the final T20I against Ireland on Friday.
