Defending 298 runs, Kyle Mayers and Alzarri Joseph each took two wickets and restricted the United States to a score of 258/7. Gajanand Singh remained unbeaten on 101 runs off 109 deliveries, but was not able to take the USA over the line without much contribution from the other batters.
Nepal, on the other hand, lost to Zimbabwe in their opening game, but registered a six-wicket victory over the United States in their next match.
