Needing only 157 to win, Bangladesh got over the line with 92 balls to spare. However, against a tougher opponent in their next assignment – England – they stumbled. Despite the Bangladesh bowlers picking wickets every few overs, England went on to post 364 for 9, in reply to which the Tigers fell short by 137 runs.
New Zealand, meanwhile, are on a rampage. They beat England in their first game comprehensively after Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra scored unbeaten half centuries. Conway remained unbeaten on 152 while Ravindra was not out on 123 as New Zealand convincingly chased down 283. This was followed by a 99-run win over the Netherlands. Batting first, New Zealand piled up a total of 322 and then defended it effortlessly.
