India and Australia will play the final of the second edition of the World Test Championship from 7 to 11 June 2023 at The Oval. June 12 will be reserve day if play is interrupted due to inclement weather.

India were the runners-up of the inaugural cycle of the tournament played between 2019 to 2021. They lost the rain-interrupted final to New Zealand on the reserve day of the game. 

Finalists of the 2021 to 2023 season, India and Australia finished the league stage as the top two teams.  Australia topped the points table with 66.67 points percentage (PCT) from 19 matches, while India finished second with 58.8 PCT in 18 games. India made it to the final after winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 in March this year. 

It’s been over a decade since India last won an ICC title, and this is their best chance to break the losing streak. They have a mix of young and veteran players, most of whom are in good form and could help break India’s ICC trophy drought. Australia, on the other hand, last won an ICC trophy two years ago, in the game’s shortest format.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out with an injury. The pacer is still nursing a left Achilles injury that he suffered during the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League. India, meanwhile, do not have any injury concerns.
