The highly anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup is set to kick off on October 5 in Ahmedabad, India. Spanning across ten venues, the tournament will reach its thrilling conclusion with the final, also taking place in Ahmedabad, on November 19. The semi-finals are scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Mumbai and Kolkata respectively.
After much anticipation, the ICC and BCCI finally unveiled the long-awaited World Cup schedule at a special event in Mumbai. Surprisingly, this announcement came just 100 days prior to the tournament’s commencement, in contrast to the 2019 World Cup in England and the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where the fixtures were released more than 12 months in advance.

The highly anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup sets the stage for an exciting opening match between the finalists of the 2019 edition, with New Zealand facing off against England. Meanwhile, the host nation, India, begins their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. The Indian team then moves on to face Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11, followed by a clash with Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15. They continue their journey against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19 and New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22. The team will then face England in Lucknow on October 29, followed by a qualifier in Mumbai on November 2. The final matches of the league stage include encounters against South Africa in Kolkata on November 5 and another qualifier in Bengaluru on November 11, which marks the penultimate day of this phase.
It’s worth noting that the Indian team will be traveling extensively during the league phase, competing at nine of the ten venues designated for the tournament.
