New Zealand and the Netherlands will play the sixth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. New Zealand won their opener game against England, while the Netherlands lost their opening game to Pakistan.
For the Kiwis, Matt Henry (3 wickets) and Glenn Phillips (2 wickets) did a good job with the ball, but England went on to post a decent total of 282 runs on the board. However, the showstoppers of the match were Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, who scored unbeaten centuries to take New Zealand to the target in only 36.2 overs. Conway scored an unbeaten 152 off 121 balls at a strike rate of 125.62 while Ravindra remained unbeaten on 123 off 96, which he scored with the help of 11 boundaries and five maximums. Ravindra and Conway shared a partnership of 273* runs, which is the highest partnership for the Kiwis at the World Cup.
Netherlands, on the other hand, gave a good fight to Pakistan but winning the match proved too big a task for them. Bas de Leede picked up four wickets and was the standout bowler for the Netherlands. Pakistan scored 286 runs, in chase of which they fell short of the target by 81 runs. Vikramjit Singh and Leede scored a half century each, but they weren’t enough to take the Dutch over the line.
