3. Pathum Nissanka

The Sri Lankan batsman holds the record for the third-fastest double century in ODIs, which he scored in February 9 against Afghanistan in Pallekele. His innings saw him dispatching the ball to all corners of the ground, ultimately reaching his double century in just 136 deliveries.

Finishing unbeaten on 210 runs from 139 balls, he etched his name in history as the first Sri Lankan to achieve this remarkable milestone. Nissanka’s innings was a display of exquisite timing and calculated aggression, featuring an impressive tally of 20 boundaries and eight towering sixes.

4. Chris Gayle

6. Shubman Gill

7. Sachin Tendulkar

Not only is Sachin Tendulkar the highest run-scorer in ODI cricket history, he is also a part of the list of the fastest double centuries in the format. Against South Africa in February 2010 in Gwalior, Tendulkar crafted a sensational 147-ball 200.

His innings was adorned with 25 boundaries and three towering sixes. India’s mammoth total of 401/3, powered by Tendulkar’s heroics, proved insurmountable for South Africa, who were bundled out for 248 runs.

8. Fakhar Zaman 

In July 2018 in Bulawayo, Fakhar Zaman crafted a scintillating 148-ball 200 against Zimbabwe. Partnering with Imam-ul-Haq, Zaman orchestrated a monumental 304-run opening stand, with Imam contributing a solid 133 runs.

Zaman’s innings of 210 not out from 156 deliveries featured an impressive array of 24 boundaries and five sixes. Pakistan set a formidable total of 399/1, before bundling out Zimbabwe for a mere 155 runs.

9. Rohit Sharma 

Ninth on the list is Hitman Rohit Sharma, who is the only player in ODI cricket history to score three double centuries. His first double century, which came in November 2014 at Eden Gardens, is the highest individual score in the format.

Sharma carved out a magnificent 151-ball 200, eventually amassing a colossal 264 runs from 173 deliveries. His innings was embellished with an astounding 33 boundaries and nine sixes, leaving the opposition in disarray. India, riding on Sharma’s brilliance, posted an imposing total of 404/5, and went on to win the game by margin of 153 runs.
