Game Rules of Checkers
Checkers is played on an 8x8 board with 64 squares, alternately alternating between light and dark colours. On the first three rows of the board, each player starts with 12 pieces, either black or white.
Each player moves a piece diagonally to a square that has the same colour as it. A player can take their opponent's piece by leaping over it to the vacant square if their piece is next to their opponent's piece and the square beyond is not occupied. If a player's piece continues to be in a position to hop over another opponent's piece and take it, then more than one capture can be made in a single move.
A piece is 'crowned' and transforms into a 'king' when it reaches the opposite end of the board, which is signalled by stacking a second piece of the same colour on top of it. Kings are able to travel diagonally in either the forward or backward direction and can capture numerous targets in a single turn.
Checkers game comes to a close when any particular player manages to bag all the pieces of the opponent and block their movement. If neither player can win the game, it can result in a draw or stalemate.
