SA vs AFG Fantasy Prediction: South Africa vs Afghanistan on Thursday, Check Fantasy team, Playing XIs, Injury Updates & Pitch Report T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final 1

Semi-Final 1 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between South Africa and Afghanistan – two teams that have never won the big prize before. The match is scheduled to take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago, on Thursday at 6.00 AM IST.

South Africa has been unbeatable in the tournament, winning all seven of their matches. Afghanistan, after losing to India, pulled off a surprise victory against Australia and then defeated Bangladesh to secure their first-ever semi-final spot in an ICC event.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the top run-scorer in this T20 World Cup, amassing 281 runs in seven innings. His 43 runs off 55 balls in the last match against Bangladesh were vital for Afghanistan’s win. Fazalhaq Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets. Naveen-ul-Haq has also been outstanding, taking 13 wickets in seven innings. He was named Player of the Match against Bangladesh for his impressive performance, where he took 4 wickets for 26 runs. All of these players can give a tough fight to South Africa, who have historically always faltered in semifinals.

Afghanistan and South Africa have faced each other twice in T20 Internationals, both times in T20 World Cups. South Africa won both matches. Ahead of the 1st semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, here is all you need to know.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz injured his knee while playing against Bangladesh and left the field, with Mohammad Ishaq taking over. He also skipped training in Tarouba before the semi-final, so his fitness for the match is uncertain. South Africa do not have any injury or unavailability concerns.

SA vs AFG match prediction¬†Although most people would predict South Africa to win this match, it can be noted that Afghanistan can no longer be taken lightly. However, their only batsman who performed well this tournament – Rahmanullah Gurbaz – has injured himself and if he is not fit for the semifinal, Afghanistan’s chances to win may lower further.
